A 129 kg satellite experiences a gravitational force by the Earth of 790 N.What is the radius of the satellit?
A 129 kg satellite experiences a gravitational force by the Earth of 790 N. What is the radius of the satellite’s orbit?
What is its altitude?
As a satellite travels around the Earth through thin air does the air friction cause the satellite to slow dow?

Note: the satellite must transfer energy to the air particles. However, when it does this it may lose either kinetic or potential energy (or both). I am having trouble determining whether it slows down or loses altitude.

A satellite is in a circular orbit 225 km above the equator of the earth. How many kilometres must it travel for its longitude to change by 78.2°?
Assume the radius of the earth equals 6400 kilometres.
What is the satellite that transmits signals in various different languages and contains a map to Earth?
I saw a small piece on the Discovery Channel on this satellite and I was just curious about it. Its supposed to call out to other potential life forms that may exist in various different languages, inviting them to follow the map on the satellite to Earth. Can anyone tell me what the [...]
